After I finish Five Greatest Warriors I'll look up Brad Thor. Just on Reilly, was reading that one of the US stations is starting work on a TV series for the West trilogy. I hope they don't fuck it up.

I am Jackie Chan - My Life in Action. I'm quite interested in the Matthew Reilly books you guys are talking about. What's a good one to start with? I'd start with Ice Station. This is the start of the series where the main character is a US Marine called Scarecrow. Te ones I'm reading are a series on an Aussie soldier type called Jack West - first book is the 7 Ancient Wonders. Also a good series, more like an Indiana Jones as they try to beat competing forces to these ancient sites and artifacts, going through trap systems like you see in the Indy films.

Ice Station blew my mind when I first read it. Had never read a book that had such lengthy, detailed action sequences.
I read Contest before that, and was a bit 'meh' on that one. It's okay, but you can tell it was his first effort as a writer. Ice Station made me a Reilly fan.

the best one, I think, is the book called SCARECROW....the story about all the Bounty Hunters, The Black Knight especially is an intriguing character...well suffice it to say, as I read it, i could see it unfolding in my minds eye, always a indicator of a top read.

Superman v. Muhammad Ali. I downloaded this one today and I have been giving it a read over. As an alien race called the Scrubb demand that Earth's greatest champion battle their world's own greatest fighter. Both Superman and Muhammad Ali step forward of the challenge to determine who is truly Earth's greatest fighter, Superman temporarily loses his powers and faces Ali in the ring.

Muhammad Ali wins then? Supes without powers is useless. Batman would kick Supes ass even worse than Ali.
I read Marvel's The Dark X-Men hardcover. It was pretty grim with Norman Osborn having his own evil X-Men to police mutants. It was OK, but not near as good as the classic Thunderbolts: Faith In Monsters/Caged Angels a few years back written by Warren Ellis & art by Mike Deodato, for a badass villain team, that took the cake.
I've been very lax when it comes to reading my comics. Trying to fix that soon.
Recently grabbed Dark X-Men The Beginning 1-3 Justice League 1 [2011] involving a reboot of the entire DC lineup

Muhammad Ali wins then? Supes without powers is useless. Batman would kick Supes ass even worse than Ali. Yeah, Muhammad Ali gives Superman a whooping and Knocks him out and then is forced to face the scrubb's warrior beast with a stipulation that Ali must pick the round he wins the fight in or the earth will be destroyed and all humans will become slaves of the scrubb. You then find out it was an elaborate plan by superman, that he couldn't defeat Ali so he teams up with Ali and he gets his powers back to defeat the scrubb. At the end Ali says he knows Superman is Clark Kent. some great 70's nostalgia.

Treasure by Clive Cussler. my fave author and tells a very good story. Dirk Pitt is tracking down the lost treasure of Alexander the Great while saving his father from middle eastern extremists

Just started reading, Ruthless: A Memoir, by Jerry Heller.
The white Jewish guy who started Ruthless Records with Eazy-E.
I'm gonna also try an read the new Steve Jobs bio(as Steve would have wanted it done, on an iPad).
I normally read a book at a time, but in this case, I want to read both, and I can't put one infront of the other.

Thanks Recky, love that Steampunk type of thing. Just grabbed it myself, due of your good taste of media.
Found some spare sick leave time to delve in the comic collection
Read recently
Marvel Comics Dark X-Men 1-5 Hardcover Green Goblin/Norman Osborn wants a nice happy PR X-Men Team to represent Mutant kind for the post Skrull Invasion World. In reality, the team is a bunch of homicidal depressive misfits. Bad things happen as usual. It’s a good dark oddball humour read, but not an essential purchase at a high price.
Grabbed recently Hack/Slash: some too cool for hell Indy comic involving a sexy Goth chick taking on various nasty ghoulish types. This thing is starting to pick up a cult following, so I wanted to see the fuss about it:
Hack/Slash: Halloween Treat Hack/Slash: Living Corpse Annual Hack/Slash: Entry Wound
Artwork looks rather solid & characterful, so we'll see.
Marvel Comics Venom 01. 02, 03, 04 & ongoing issues There’s a new Venom on the block & he’s on the Government Spec Ops payroll, gonna be some ass kicking.
I’ve not read any of them, yet.

I am Jackie Chan.
The guy has had a pretty interesting life. The book was written just prior to him completing RUSH HOUR so it would be interesting to get his take on America now. Throughout the entire book he didn't have much time for the way yanks make flicks. I wonder if his opinion has changed now he is successful there.
