dc comics...IDENTITY CRISIS I read this about a month back. Loved it! Just finished this week - The Flash - The Dastardly Death Of The Rogues Michael J Fox - Lucky Man. Started reading Brock Lesnar's Death Clutch. So far it''s been ok without being great. Fairly light reading after reading Michael J Fox's book.

Just finished Brock Lesnar's Death Clutch - What a load of shit. I liked Brock Lesnar the Wrestler and Brock Lesnar the fighter but this book makes him out to be a complete dick. I know the guy is cocky but I didn't realise he was such a selfish prick. Guy doesn't seem to have any respect for anything or anyone. It seems all he cares about is money.
I find his version of several events quite amusing. It seems he only remebers what he want's to. He didn't have too much to say about Velasquez handing him his arse. I think Velasquez is the only person he actually said was a better man though. Every other time he lost something it was supposedly because he made a mistake. Not that the other guy was better.
I can't stand Frank Mir but I can unerstand a bit of his hatred towards Lesnar. I thought Lesnar's take on BJJ Black Belts was a load of shit. He feels that the belts haven't been earned because they are awarded by an instructor. His take on it is that you need to win a tournament to be awarded anything. Last time I checked there was nothing wrong with hard work being rewarded.
I could talk all day about what a load of tripe this is. The guy is a fucking meat head. I used to root for Lesnar because I wanted to see the Pro Wrestler prove some MMA fans wrong. Now I'll be rooting against him.

Batman Unseen. The Bat takes on The Invisible Man in this gruesome tale. Pretty crazy wacky art & a really unlikable villian, not a bad Batman tale. I've not read my comics for a while. Might have some time up my sleeve & get into some more of them Always like comic book adventures. Might even restart my Garth Ennis run PunisherMAX reading....

Downloaded recently Marvel Comics: Deadpool 29 (2011) Punisher Max 12, 13 (2011) X-Force 25 (2010)
Finished reading a real paperback... The Rhinemann Exchange - Robert Ludlum. A talented civilian is trained into a highly capable operative during WWII. He is them meant to broker a deal between Nazis & The USA - a secretive swap of diamonds for rocket guidance systems. Lots of double dealing & slick violent action & cool locales. It's pretty much right up my alley, finished it in 3-4 days as I had a tropical holiday with nothing to do but relax around the swimming pool. Good times recently for this workhorse.

Just finished Foley's Countdown to Lockdown. Not a bad read, more of the same from Mick really. There's a couple of chapters I found to be quite boring, like the one on substance issues in sport.

Affluenza - When Too Much Is Never Enough
It discusses how Australin Society is addicted to overconsumption. How we work longer hours and covet material items that make no improvement to our wellbeing.
I didn't agree with everything discussed but it did get me thinking about a few things differently. Certainly well worth reading.

Long Way Down by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. for those who dont know they rode motorbikes from John O Groats in Scotland to Cape Town South Africa. follow up of their book Long Way Round. Some funny stories, some sad and some that just floor you. If you havent read it or watched the series, do it.
sometimes they do or say stuff that make you think they're a couple of dicks, but then they are quick to admit they were at fault and move on. all around they are good guys tho and tell a great story. you dont have to be a bike fan to like it.

Two Seconds From Glory by Meldrick Taylor. I picked this up on Amazon as the last copy of a out of print book but I have a bit of a mixed review after reading it. It details his early life growing up in the ghetto of North Philadelphia and his rise to prominence as the youngest member on the 1984 olympic boxing team to the infamous fight with Chavez that the loss destroyed his career and health but unfortunately majority of his fights he does not go into much details or give out any information we didn't already know about his career but he openly talks about his womanising ways comparing himself to Jack Johnson and how he was spreading VD around to white women. He accuses Richard Steele of being in Don Kings Pocket and the second half of the book is full of very controversial extremeist black views on the media, boxing etc.. it seems in his poor mental health he has joined a religious cult.It is quite sad that this was even released.
If you want to see a good documentary on Meldrick Taylor you should see this instead...

Just got done reading JJ Dillon's book again. Awesome read and covers so much, how he got into wrestling, being a manager and wrestler, the glory days of the Horsemen, working in WWE & WCW. He talks about people he works with both good and bad but just deals with it on a business level, without some of the bitchyness of other books. He isnt shy in talking about guys like Russo, Bischoff and Vince McMahon tho, as well as who he feels was responsible for the problems WCW had. Even if you're not a fan of JJ i reckon everyone should read this.

I don't know why, but I just pictured Dolph Lundgren in Rocky IV saying "I will break you", when thinking about a Russian Superman ;D

Just just grabbed Superman Red Son, myself. Always liked those DC Else-worlds tales. Batman: Gotham By Gaslight was a ripper (I made an unintentional pun) Art was by Mr Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, quite a while back in 1989. Got a copy of it somewhere.
