Let Me In
Set in the early 1980s, it's a vampire story with a difference. The concept isn't glamorized or celebrated as it is with the likes of Twilight.. and every other gay piece of horse-shit teen literature.
The story is of a neglected, lonely, bullied 12 year old boy, Owen who befriends Abby. A vampire girl who moves in next door. It's, at it's core a story of two children trying to understand adolescence, themselves and as sappy as it sounds, a developing love for each other, despite Abby clearly being, the undead.
The vampire folklore is beautifully established in a way, thats it's never, over the top romanticized bullshit like Twilight or Buffy. The vampire part of the girl is much more a dependent animalistic take on the idea while much of it carries a mysticism that most vampire movies don't.
It's a bit of a slow burner in parts, visually it's stunning. If you consider the cold, dead winter stunning, and much of it being set in a small grungy apartment.
****
Easy A.
Spastic looking chick, that was in Superbad. Who has become a nerd goddess for whatever reason, stars as a forgettable senior who lies about losing her virginity.
It spews out of control when Christian chick, the now, equally spastic looking Amanda Bynes disapproves and spreads the word, she's a whore. To save face, chick from Superbad plays it up and long story short, in exchange for money and gifts every second loser at school gets to say they had sex with her.
Some funny parts, mostly from her parents. But a standard " we're living in a facebook world " type teenage movie as she retells her story via webcam to, I guess... the entire world.

Brooklyn's Finest
I watched this last night. It's better average. It centers on three New York cops working in Brooklyn.
Theres the undercover cop (Don Cheadle) who has been posing as a Drug Dealer for years, and wants out. And takes a deal to set up his criminal pal, played by Wesley Snipes.
Theres Ethan Hawk's character, a guy who robs drug dealers for their cash to finance his expanding family.
Then Richard Gere's character, a cop a week out from retirement. Jesus cliché or what, who in the final act of the movie, discovers a missing person who is being used a sex slave.
It just goes no where, very slowly. You could have clearly have cut Gere's character from the entire movie. And expanded on Cheadle's role and the set up. Hawk could have become an unwilling hit-man of sorts, instead of researching dealers to rob and/or kill, he could have been fed information from the Federal Agent instructing Cheadle.
And there lies the the conspiracy that Cheadle uncovers instead. As a means to keep Cheadle as the dominate dealer in the 'hood, the FBI were using a cop to knock the rivals. Cheadle cracks it when he feels the heat coming down on him when he calls out the Agent on it.. and we end it the agent giving Hawk the orders to kill Cheadle, while Don is trying to convince Hawk otherwise, Hawk should just kill them both and end the entire mess of a movie and take the money.
Shit *.5

I watched season 6 of Weeds I really enjoy this show but thought it was slipping a bit in season 5, thankfully season six is back to what made the show great still not as good as the first couple of seasons but still really good. A great finale that leaves you waiting for season 7.

I agree it went a little off track, but it's back to good stuff I think. Best cliffhangers for the end of each season, and I can't wait to see what happens next season as the last left off with a ripper cliffhanger.

The best end to a season was the Mexican stand off but plan C was a great finish to season 6. Do you think the next season will see Nancy in jail setting up a weed distribution network in prison while the Mexicans are trying to have her killed or will the government put her into witness protection or something, it will be interesting to see where they will go from here.

Prince of Persia.
It was ok. As far as video games turned into movies goes, it's one of the better ones. The princess in it is very sexy.

Dollhouse season 2.1 I really like Eliza Dushku in season 1. Season 2 starts off a little slow, but it's good mind bending action/drama

smallville season 9 - the ep with hawkman etc AND...blu ray of AUSTRALIA and X MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE...clearly a hugh jackman day Australia was so critically acclaimed that I wasn't all that keen to see it when it first came out, I thought it was going to be some corny lovie - dovy pouncie sh*t. I was shocked at how good it actually was. A sensational movie worthy of all the hype.
