Fave songs/albums? Any that bring back good memories?
Seen them in concert?
Lasting over 20 years, where do they stand among other rock acts who have stood the test of time?

First song you heard by them? - daughter
Fave songs/albums? Any that bring back good memories? - fave song..ummm...Evolution, a cover funnily enough
Seen them in concert? -only on DVD
Lasting over 20 years, where do they stand among other rock acts who have stood the test of time? - while Seatttle /grunge was never my cup of coffee, pearl jam have a place in my cd rack...I think they kept themselves pretty clean and apart from Vedder kept there opinions to themselves, but Eddie aint that noisy...solid rock band with a feel for their fanbase
Anything else Pearl Jam you wanna bring up? - if Andrew Wood hadnt died , Stone Gossard said that Pearl jam would never have existed....would we still be talking about Mother Love Bone ??...i doubt it

First song you heard by them?
God knows, it was probably " Better Man " some time in 1997.
Fave songs/albums? Any that bring back good memories?
Daughter, Better Man, Black, Evenflow, the list goes on.
Seen them in concert?
Yes. Melbourne 2009, the Backspacer Tour. Awesome, it blew me away. Eddie is unmatched on vocals, absolute champ. Guitar work was amazing. They were awesome to say the least.
The crowd was mainly 25+ years and up, so it was an older crowd, but the general consensus was, this was a band that understand and respected their fans. There was no pyro, or huge staging, nor massive big screens. They just went out their smashed it all night for over 4 hours, thanked the crowd like they were playing their final show and really gave a shit.
Lasting over 20 years, where do they stand among other rock acts who have stood the test of time?
Without a doubt one of the greatest acts of the last 20 years. Up there with all the top bands. But what puts them there is, they aren't running around like The Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl in particular going " I'm a rockstar! Look at my friends, they're rockstars! " or writing shit music in exchange for political careers.
Anything else Pearl Jam you wanna bring up?
Personal opinion, I think they did what Nirvana were never capable of. And that was redefining themselves in the mid-1990s and becoming something more than Grunge rock.

First song you heard by them? Alive. I liked it, Even Flow was a good follow up too.
Fave songs/albums? Any that bring back good memories? Fave song would be Rearview Mirror.
Seen them in concert? No. I don't mind them, but I've never been huge on them either.
Lasting over 20 years, where do they stand among other rock acts who have stood the test of time? I think they have a very secure spot within their generation of music.
Anything else Pearl Jam you wanna bring up? A bit dreary at times for me, I liked their earlier stuff better.

First song you heard by them?
I honestly don't remember. It probably would have been Alive considering I've followed them from when they have started.
Fave songs/albums? Any that bring back good memories?
Ten is my all time favourite album. There is nothing on that album when I think meh and forward to the next. So memories? I guess that one in particular brings back some really fond memories of my teenage years. Hanging out with good friends and listening to awesome music was a really great part of my life.
Song? That's pretty hard. Jeremy has always been a favourite of mine. I could list about 15 - 20 songs here.
Seen them in concert?
Yep. Finally got to see them last year and it was incredible! I think it was something like a 34 song marathon and the band clearly wanted to put on a great show for the 45 - 50K people there. Easily the best concert I have ever seen.
Lasting over 20 years, where do they stand among other rock acts who have stood the test of time?
Right up there easily IMO. I'm pretty biased because I'm a big fan but I really think they hold their place quite well amongst all the main stream rubbish that seems to get praised.
Anything else Pearl Jam you wanna bring up?
I kind of went off them around Yield - Binaural era. I don't know why I just really couldn't get into them that much. They started winning me back at Riot Act, I really enjoyed the self titled and by the time Backspacer came out I was hooked again.

First song you heard by them? Alive.
Fave songs/albums? Any that bring back good memories? Their first 3 albums are my faves, choc full of classic songs. I think their most recent album was a great return to form as well. Fave song would probably be Footsteps or even Yellow Leadbetter, though I also love Elderly Woman.
As for the good memories, well I listened to plenty of Pearl Jam just hanging out with my mates, having a few beers and talking shit, and those are good memories. Back in my clubbing days I used to love when the cover band/singer would go into one of their tunes, would always light the place up.
Seen them in concert? Yes, about 2-3 years ago at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Damn good, one of my favourite concerts.
Lasting over 20 years, where do they stand among other rock acts who have stood the test of time? At their peak their stuff was as good as anything ever done in my opinion. A few albums did leave something to be desired though, and some of their 'stands' like the Ticketmaster thing, and the 'no filmclip' thing has hurt them more than endeared them. Musically, I think they are right up there, best of their era (yes, better than f'n Nirvana).
Anything else Pearl Jam you wanna bring up? Vedder > Cobain in every way.
