Gog mentioned in another thread that if New Zealand had AFL football, he'd move there.
Having just come back from NZ myself, I now agree with him. I had an amazing time seeing the attractions in Auckland and Waitomo (I'm a bit rushed for time right now, but will add more tomorrow on the stuff we did over there).
Would like to get to the South Island at some point.
How about yourself? Within Australia or overseas, there are all places we've been or would like to go to.
Where have you been, do you recommend it?
Where would you like to go? Have you got a holiday planned?
Acitivities you got up to?
Local foods you've tried?
How were the people there?
What's your dream destination?
Answer one question, some, all, add your own if you like. I'd be interested to see where Inmates travels have taken them.

Where have you been, do you recommend it?
Have not been overseas, busy seeing the Australian country side over the last couple of years.
Visited Brisbane & the Gold Coast a few years back. Loved the Gold Coast, we hit Surfers right in the middle of " May Day " or something. Heaps of atmosphere, really fun. A lot of beach, clubs, dining out.
Hit up Western Australia last year, flew into Perth from Melbourne and straight out to Kalgoorlie for a 30th, spent a week or so seeing the outback, drove down to Esperence - another week there on the beach. Albany, Margaret River then back up to Perth. About 2.5 weeks in total. Beautiful part of the world. So much to see.
Did a road trip recently, Canberra.. who cares, Sydney. Was staying right in the middle of it all for Australia Day. A lot of wining and dining, drinking and bumming around. Went up a few hundred kms north for another week on the beach.
Where would you like to go? Have you got a holiday planned?
I think the United States would be on the cards some day. Go to Raw or a PPV, etc. See New York City, etc.
Acitivities you got up to?
All the touristy things in Kali, some snorkeling off some Island off Esperence, the theme parks on the Gold Coast, went about underground in Kali, the usual.

When I was younger... so much younger than today, the thing to do was head to Europe. Everyone was scrimping, saving and trying not to put in for either beer or pizza to get money to head to Europe.
I did the same, but a mate and I instead went to the States. We hired a car in NYC and hit the road, and to cut a long story short, over the course of two months, and three cars, we drove across the country. No real plans. No set intinerary. Just hit the road and see where it took us.
Best two months of my life and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Got to Europe several years later, and it was nowhere near as good.

Nath, yeah I'm a big fan of the Gold Coast theme parks as well. Each has it's rides and attractions I enjoy. Movie World has recently put in the Green Lantern Coaster which has the steepest inverted drop of any coaster in the southern hemisphere. For it to be a steeper drop than their Superman Escape ride, it must be a real poop your pants hum dinger.
Also, in April Movie World lauchches another new coaster, Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy, it's based on The Joker. Looking forward to that one.

I went to the US last year via a WWE Travel Package for Wrestle Mania, Hall Of Fame, Axxess and Raw. A year on, I still smile when I think about meeting my childhood hero Ricky Steamboat, watching HBK be inducted to the HOF or the buzzing atmosphere of the 5*, knock down, drag out, Undertaker/HHH match at WM. Memories that will live with me forever.
I know I'll get to another WM some day. WWE also do travel packages for Summer Slam now. So that's also an option.
New Zealand was beautiful, friendly, buzzing with activity.
The highlights for me for Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, where we tubed through the caves and waterfalls in near total darkness. Only light was the one on our helmet. Looking up at the glow worms on the roof of the caves as you paddled through the water was something special.
I also enjoyed the trip to Auckland Zoo as we had booked a Zoom Encounter where we got to feed giraffes and lions, and pat a rhino. As well as have access to other areas paying customers don't. Seeing animals up close like that, magic.
My fave animal is a hippo, and they weren't too active at first, preferring to stay underwater. So we went to see some of the other animals.
We came back later in the arvo, and they were still underwater. After 15 mins, they stirred, wallowing around in the water, then coming out to feed and then back to the water, sinking under and disappearing. I was smiling the whole time.

I wish I could add to this, but I've only gone to Melbourne for the wrestling years ago, when the WWE first came down, and the ACT many times, most of which are a blur as it was all major piss ups. The last 2 trips to the ACT were to race my RC car, and that's pretty much the only reason I go there now (They have the best track in the country).
Nothing to really talk about in actual places visited, but I will mention the plans for the next 12 months. All travel plans revolve around RC Racing now ;D
Am hoping to go to QLD in May for their RC state titles, and another trip to VIC later in the year for their state titles.
I am planning a 4 week trip next year to the US, but will spend most, if not all my time in California as it has 30 RC tracks for me to race on and run with some pro's, an some tracks are indoors, woohoo.
Would like to plan the trip to work out so I can goto Mania next year, but 4 weeks of racing and trying to get into some of the really big races is the priority. Will be going with my brother and one of my best mates. That's the plan, and I'm going with or without them. If it goes to plan, it more than likely will turn into an annual trip.
I was supposed to do the trip to the states RIGHT NOW and currently be there, but things didn't go to plan.
