So what movie(s) are loved by others but you just seem to hate or not like as much??
Blair Witch Project. Only movie I've dozed off in at a cinema. Last 10 minutes wasn't bad, but it was a lost cause by then.
The Matrix. It's ok, but for me it was pretty boring.
Apocalypse Now. Granted I've only seen Redux, but it didn't live up to the hype. I've heard the original cut is much, much better, so I am keen to watch that.

Avatar - It looked pretty, but the big blue aliens didn't grab me enough.
The Dark Knight - It's a very good movie, just not the greatest. Overly long & the wank with the 2 boats at the end was anti-climactic. Also really don't like Mrs Cruise being dumped for Maggie G. um, I noticed. Still Iron Man 2 swapped out James Rhodes/War Machine.
Office Space - heard rave reviews & maybe was expecting too much. Good slacker movie, maybe needs another viewing.
Hook - that was just plain dumb. Mork as Peter Pan.

I think if Ledger had not died, it would have been a " good movie " like Batman Begins was instead of the over-hyped masterpiece it was.

Matrix 3 was pretty awful, but I cant take anything away from the first two. I dont care for the Lord of the Rings, just not my "genre" of fantasy. I'm a future guy As for the Dark Knight, it was brilliant for mine. Where Begins just eases its way back into the series with its new dark look, DK blew me out of the park.

Lord of the rings would have to be my favourite trio.
Would have gone for star wars but in return of the jedi..Those little mongrel ewoks shit me!
As for the matrix loved the first one,The second sort of went over my head therefore found it a bit dull and the third one actually quite enjoyed a wicked battle scene always helps me get more into it.

Begins is good but DK is great for a butt load of reasons, but basically he's got Batman and the supporting characters spot on. LOTR while packing some rather average CGI deserves the credit for the scale of the project. But, much like something along the lines of Barry Lyndon, just because its a great feat production wise I don't know that that makes a great movie. I like them enough and think the casting is thought out, plus some of the emotion captured is quite real at times which brings a real heart to it... if you can sit through it. Avatar is the definition of overrated. If LOTR is a big budget film with heart then Avatar is it's total opposite. A shallow, shiny whistle. Matrix is good, two and three over explain it and destroy the great mythos built in the first. Noise. They certainly captured the feeling of a constant buzzing in your ear... why they thought that'd make a good movie I have no idea. Spider-man 1 - a billion. Just... horrible. Everything from Power-ranger green goblin to face turn Doc Octopus to the smallest Venom ever conceived. Deathrace (I think it was called). It's just a really stupid car race movie. The Departed. Was good but hardly a lot too it and hardly deserved the be all and end all praise it got at the time. Anything by Tim Burton at this point.

I thought 2 was really good, but I agree the first and third films are very overrated. I think I don't enjoy them because Maguire and Dunst are so wooden in them. Looking forward to see what happens with the reboot.

Looking forward to see what happens with the reboot. I was disappointed in the first one and the series never won me back. As you say, wooden, plus something was off. Spider-man would have to be one of the most approachable comic book characters ever created, I'd like to see it done well also.

Train Spotting, after 20 minutes I was waiting for it to end. But I was watching it with friends, so had to endure it

I love Knocked Up. I think it's probably the greatest of the Apatow movies. Superbad I never really got into, it took a many viewings for me to warm up to it.
But I rate Knocked Up very highly.

So what movie(s) are loved by others but you just seem to hate or not like as much?? The Matrix. It's ok, but for me it was pretty boring. I just seen this now. WTF [/size] One of my all time fav movies. The follow up's arn't as good, but I love the first one. Fucking great storyline, something out of the norm, it was shot in Sydney, I can identify where nearly every scene happened when it shows the city. That nightclub scene where the "white rabbit" leads him to, was Black Market a.k.a Dayclub......one of my fav clubs of all time. So many memories. I spose I like it as it's computer related and it was shot in Sydney, but I really love that storyline, which I think, James Cameron took the concept and modified it for Avatar, another great movie by the way. Please don't tell me you don't like that one, I might have to smite you
