Currently listening to the new Ice Cube album "I am the west"
About half way through, and I'm liking what I'm hearing so far.

All those little disses he takes at the current artists, i wish he actually meant them. He gives it to Kanye, Lil Wayne etc... but then in an interview he goes he likes what they do. Fuck that shit, they're killing hip hop. The old pissed off Ice Cube needs to come back, where his tracks were nothing but hate.
Excellent album though.

I've got Serj Tankian's (Lead singer of System of a Down) new album playing. Imperfect Harmonies. I was a little skeptical when I heard some samples before it's release but I absolutely love it. It's certainly not for everyone but for those who liked his first album, "Elect the Dead" should like this one. IMO the guy is a musical genius. Now I just wish my preorder pack from his site will arrive!

There's still alot of good stuff out there but I've given up on it. Kanye is the perfect example - since the first album (which is great) he's steadily sold out to the bullshit ringtone rap fans because that's the only way you can get rich anymore. Everybody sounds the same, commercialise the game Reminiscing when it wasn't all business You forgot where it all started So we all gather here for the dearly departed Hip hopper since a toddler One homeboy became a man then a mobster If the guys let me get my last swig of vodka RIP, we'll donate your lungs to a rasta

Yea, I agree to some extent, which is why I only listen to they guys I was listening to back in the 80's/90's. I love the 90's hip hop.

I am old school and don't have a cd player in my car so when I get the chance to drive the work car, I have my old Metallica cd's playing. Bit of KISS doesn't hurt either!

Love the 70's and 80's rock.....KISS, Motley Crue, the mighty Van Halen. I've been cranking up the 1st Montrose album. This CD needs to be listened to loudly. Recently dug up the 1st 2 Vixen albums. The lead singer is absolutely stunning and she can sing too.

Great start to the thread when I see Serj and Cube's new album.
Trying to think of what my latest download or buy was. All I can remember is the Hives new EP from a couple of months back which makes me crave new stuff from them.
