I used to tape footy, NFL, NHL some NBA and WWF off my SD silver box but it shat itself and now Foxtel have sent me a HD mystar box which now stops me from taping straight off th tv like I used to because it throws up a copy protect signal/box on my DVR when I try to tape now
any solutions as in maybe just a one cable thing to get around this ?
this current box comes with SD channels also but same thing happens when I try to tape on SD
have googled this matter but I get lost amongst the USB/capture card/svideo/component cable talk they advise to do so just thought id chuck it out there in here to see if anyone knows anything
it pisses me off that Foxtel have discontinued sending out the old silver SD boxes as I really feel they shouldnt be allowed to stop me from taping stuff like what I tape, its not as if im selling it lol

There's copyright protection built it to stop people copying, but it should allow you to still copy it, but at SD res, not HD. That's my understanding of it how it's supposed to work. You might be able to get some little box, that removes that, but I'm not sure. I havn't tried this myself, and these days, I find it pointless. Foxtel IQ, DVR what you want, watch it, delete it or keep it on the box, move on. If you really want that episode/game/etc. buy or download it. You can stream and record the stream to the PC still, again, havn't looked into this, but there should be plenty of software available for that. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
