First song you heard by them?I think it was For Whom the Bell Tolls. Fave songs/albums you rate highly? Any that bring back good memories for you?Fade to Black which is on the album Ride the Lightning. My favourite song and easily my favourite album. What do you think of the change in their style over the years, away from the strictly thrash sound?I actually didn't mind it. I liked Load, there are some really good tracks on that. I really haven't heard much of Reload or St. Anger though. Death Magnetic was probably my most recent favourite which is more of an old school style. Seen them in concert? No and I kick myself every time I listen to them now. SHOULD HAVE GONE!!!! Anything else Metallica you wanna bring up? I kind of went off them after the whole Napster thing but they won me back just by being that good.

First song you heard by them? - SEEK & DESTROY
Fave songs/albums you rate highly? - song wise...unforgiven, sandman, seek & destroy, One and album wise...THE BLACK ALBUM
Any that bring back good memories for you? - hmmm, not really BUT....ENTER SANDMAN...cause if it wasnt for metallica, The Sandman would have come out to beach boys music
What do you think of the change in their style over the years, away from the strictly thrash sound?....well, everybody needs to "grow" i suppose ( unless your status quo or motorhead, who i both enjoy i might add)..so i actually like the progression the band has made since kill'em all
Seen them in concert? - the black album tour in sydney and a day on the green in Frisco
Anything else Metallica you wanna bring up?...was happy to see during some kinda monster that the mighty hetfield realised it was time to dry or die

First song you heard by them? One, and the clip is just amazing with footage and lines from that old movie. I think it's called 'Johnny Get Your Gun', something like that. It really creates a dark mood of desperation, seeing the movie clips and hearing the thoughts of the main character.
Fave songs/albums you rate highly? Any that bring back good memories for you? Fave album is Ride The Lightning, so many good songs on that, Ride The Lightning, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Fade To Black, Trapped Under Ice.
Others I like are Wherever I May Roam, Seek And Destroy and loved the first single from Death Magnetic, called The Day That Never Comes. Again, the clip is a work of art, a soldier in the Middle East who loses a buddy to enemy fire. He then struggles with balancing himself between being a solider and being 'human' in the situation that follows.
What do you think of the change in their style over the years, away from the strictly thrash sound? I prefer their thrash 80s stuff, but don't mind some of thier other efforts. It's hit and miss, but that's only my opinion.
Seen them in concert? Nope.
Anything else Metallica you wanna bring up? Some Kind Of Monster was a great view, I've never seen any other band/singer allow fans that kind of access to the shit fights, the walk outs, the real possibility that this was the end for them.

First song you heard by them? - Fuel, back when it first came out, I was probably grade 3.
Fave songs/albums you rate highly? Any that bring back good memories for you? - Mercyful Fate cover from Garage Inc., All Unforgivens, Memory Remains brings back the most memories. Fave Album would have to be Master, purely for Metallicas best song, Orion.
What do you think of the change in their style over the years, away from the strictly thrash sound? - I honestly rate the Load's better than Kill Em All and Ride The Lightning, I don't mind it. I don't even think St. Anger was that bad, All Within My Hands is right up there for me as one of their best songs.
Seen them in concert? - I'm ashamed to say no, they are my second fave band behind KISS. I couldn;t see them at the BDO in 04 because my parents wouldn't let me. Then this year, I had Tix, but they were shit (this was before they announced the earlier shows), so my mate decided to sell the tix he got quickly, and try to buy better ones. Well, the website was so laggy, he couldn't get back in, so we lost our tickets. When the newer shows were announced, my mate didn't want to go anymore, and I hate going concerts alone. Easily the biggest regret of my life.
Anything else Metallica you wanna bring up? - My 2nd Fave band behind KISS, if there was a soundtrack to my life, 3/4 of it would be Metallica. I wish i was this age when they first started out.

First song you heard by them? Fight Fire with Fire Fave songs/albums you rate highly? Any that bring back good memories for you? Pretty much the entire Ride the lightning/Master of Puppets set which stand side by side as their 2 finest works. For whom the bell tolls, Creeping death, Orion, Battery etc. The list goes on.. What do you think of the change in their style over the years, away from the strictly thrash sound? Fucking hated it at first. In between Load & ReLoad there's one decent albums worth of material but they put too much crap in the middle. Looking back now it's not so bad (especially in light of St Anger) but it was just such a drastic change it was bound to get a few people offside... Seen them in concert? No & probably never will. Being poor & having a wife who doesn't see the need to spend money on that kind of thing has kind of decided that one for me Anything else Metallica you wanna bring up? If it wasn't for Metallica, we never would've got APOCALYPTICA. Awesome cello quartet who came to prominence playing metallica covers like this: or this: or this:
