I Like the colour accents in the panther most would have just went with Black and Grey. What was the offending tattoo and any signs of it showed up after it healed? On mine on a small part when the white ink healed a lighter version of the tigers eye and part of its whiskers can sort of be seen but you wouldn't even know if you didn't know it was there. you would have to be specifically looking for it

Having seen what a good coverup can do I have my last dodgy tattoo I'm thinking of getting fixed up by summer so I can finally wear a wifebeater singlet out and about. I got this years ago when it was normal for a man to have a kanji tattoo before all these celebrities like britney made them a celebrity fashion trend for women. I was never happy with the work due to the size and the shitty studio I went to as they use a different colour to trace the outline than the blue all the good studios use that you can see before you get inked hence my poor judgement. Spent about a $1000 in 5 sessions getting that symbol lasered so far and I don't think it will ever completely go. I am thinking of incorporating a Dragon or Snake, something like have the dragons head and body covering the lasered symbol and have its tail waving upwards through the unaltered symbol possibly add a few little japanese flowers around it on the bicep and have it looking like a full tattoo which makes the offending tattoo not look like syntax errors. I might even add a Japanese windbar background to fill out the bicep in the future Any thoughts on what might look good with it to fill out the bicep and not make it look so plain and big? Edit: On another note whats your thoughts on this work of a Staffie? I have always wanted a portrait of my old golden retriever but have been a bit scared to go through a very complex style of tattooing with aussie artists. I was going through Facebook and looked at a small tattoo studio in the middle of nowhere that I pass by on my way to swingers and I am loving most of their work so I am thinking of dropping in checking out there setup and prices. I would love to get it on my leg but am scared it will turn out poor so my back might be the better option but I will lose my chance of maybe one day if I am rich getting a full Japanese back piece.

Sorry to bump but after careful consideration I am going to go with this artist who did the dog in the next month or two if i can get it done for under $800. I love the work and don't want to miss out waiting for a bit of extra coin and the artist might move on elsewhere. The Kanji can be fixed anytime and I have lived long enough with it plus I am a bit scared i do the extra work and it might not flow properly and still look bodgy so I might wait a bit longer with that one instead. Heres the pic of my dog i am going to take in and I have been chatting to a few people on tattoo forums about what I should do with it. And they are saying to maybe go for a more bolder and traditional take on a portrait with colour than a realistic black/grey portrait they think the shiny gold fur deserves to be shown off and not to get the banner with the writing as it does not look right and to go for a Super fancy script double line drop shadow with no banner. Anyways going to go get a quote on friday or saturday and check out her full portfolio

I thought I would change this thread to offer more alternatives than just a coverup Journey Got Any Tattoos? Want to show them off?,Thinking off a coverup?Any Tattoo Ideas or Questions? This is now the place to discuss it. I will start off what was your first bit of ink? Do you regret it?Do you still love it? Any Stories or Memories behind it & show some pics. I got my first tattoo in 2009 I was a late bloomer for body mods but now I am hooked. Black/Grey Eagle (B-Dawk) I did in two sessions because I had a few first time jitters and I was worried about any pain that is a folk tale to stop kids getting them. I few weeks later I added the full colour nature background in another two sessions I just went to a Kings Cross Studio in Sydney not knowing much about tattoos at the time and the fact my friends had been there and all of there work looked decent enough for someone that did not know much about tattoos.. My ex girlfriend used to say it looks like a 5 year old coloured it in, Its not world class work but I still like it and it has a bit off character to it and good memories behind it. a few years on i have kept it out of the sun and still maintains its colour well I might even fill it out more in the coming years with a sun and have the eagle swooping down on a snake. I had a guy with no ink see it recently and really liked it asking how much i paid for it and then he asked how much I paid for my Half Sleeve by Marco Serio he was shocked when I told him the price of the Half Sleeve and went to have a good look at the whole work side on you should have seen his eyes light up before he said OMG that is beautiful. Well the story behind this one was I got myself in a bit of mischief with the law and I had just beat a case so to celebrate I thought I would add some ink. The Eagles had lost the NFC Championship to the Cardinals and I was heart broken and got the Eagle done two weeks after that game. I added the outline of the Nature Background two weeks later which represents my days as a wild man I got it done at 2am after a exclusive orgy at madame lash's dungeon in Inner Sydney in which I recall banging some guys missus without a jimmie while he watched she asked him if I had one he saw I didn't and still told her i did. The Colour was added a week later after a hard days work, I came home after it was done a read on the net that Dawkins had signed with Denver that day and the background reminds me off the throwback Denver Nuggets logo. The Eagle also has the number 7 for some reason on its face a few months after this was completely finished the Eagles signed number 7 Michael Vick Heres a pic of my first Tattoo done in Kings Cross,Sydney

I've been thinking about getting a tat, not sure what though. I was leaning towards Spider-Man's hand shooting a web that progressively widens as it goes up my forearm. Then I thought that may look a tad stupid when I'm 60. Then I also though of just getting the words, something like, 'Just because I walk alone, does not mean I'm lonely'. Who knows what I'll end with when I eventually get something done.

I'm the last guy who would consider a tattoo. But if I was there are some amazing stylised skulls. One of them on each shoulder could be cool. Also like the full arm deal like Clooney/Grcko at the end of From Dusk Till Dawn. Plus maybe styled winged eagle right across the shoulder blades. I'm the biggest mark for comics & sci-fi but not sure if I'd get it in ink. Be an individual.

I'm not a tatt bloke either - just never wanted one, but if I did, I'd go a dragon - not the chinese sort. I'm racist against those dragons

It does not incorporate to my beliefs but I swear I have always wanted a boss Edward Norton American History X Style Swastika on my chest. Nothing would be more fun than going to a asian brothel and ripping your shirt off but they are more trouble then they are worth. I'm the biggest mark for comics & sci-fi but not sure if I'd get it in ink. Be an individual. There is quite a few good ones around these are from a smaller Sydney shop Spiderman Teenage Mutant Zombie Turtles This what I am going in for my 6th Tattoo. I don't know when it could be next week or it could be a few months whenever i am in the right mind set and not just getting inked for the sake of it. I am a bit scared I might be so in love and on a high with the awesome work I just got done that I will wait until the time is right. I decided to take some Tattooists and Other Inked peoples advice and go for a more traditional tattoo over a full portrait as its too risky and I personally think it looks better than the stafiie black/grey portrait.

I didn't end up going through with any of the ideas I had previously as I was really high on getting a awesome tattoo done and they get addictive and you want more and can end up with shit tattoos like my tiger and Kanji I have shown previously But I have decided I am going to see a big name sydney artist from canada who's main work is Traditional Japanese Tattoo and get a chest plate similar to this ninja done by the artist I saw Marco Serio who works in amsterdam that did my Koi when he was in sydney a few months ago. The artist I plan on seeing Kian Forreal currently has a 15 month waiting list so when I am out of debt within a year I will get on his list and see if he will do his own version of something similar as I saw a heap of his work while I was getting inked for over 16hrs and he is another excellent artist regarded as the best in Australia at Traditonal Japanese Tattoo well thats my motivation to stay weed free

INK-SLINGER ATTITUDES I must say that most artists today are so far removed from when I got started back in the very late 79...I went to "Bobs" at Bankstown and Dutchys at Milperra for my initial bits and while Bob was a real friendly kind of bloke...when I asked him for a Gene Simmons tattoo..well to say he wasn't even mildly interested is an understatement, I knew he could draw it up but he just wouldnt, but that was the mindset at the time I guess, wall flash and nothing else...and..in a similar vein, when I was living in Brissy back in 98-00, I went to a ink slinger at the valley with a mate of mine who got all his rock tatts done by this guy (whose name eludes me, young guy blond hair, looked a bit emo), I wanted a lucha inspired quarter panel on my back, I had the art and font all done for him, he looked at it , looked at me , screwed it up and threw it in the bin...pretty fucked , right ?...never did end up getting that lucha panel done
