Got to see Flight of the Conchords live tonight... loved it.
Played all the stuff from their TV show, as well as 5-6 newer, or less-known songs. Great value, and throw in 20 minutes of stand up from Arj Barker as an unadvertised opener, and you've got a great night.

Just got back from the Smashing Pumpkins concert. It's the third time I'd seen them since they broke up and this one was the best one I'd been to. Played the entire new album from start to finish and then belted out some classics. WOW!!!!!

Thought I'd bump this.
Just seen Anthrax, Slayer, Metallica, Cypress Hill, Thin Lizzy, Motley Crue and KISS within the span of a week. With GnR and ZZ Top coming in just over a week, this March shaped up to be awesome!
Anyone go to Soundwave or Kiss/Crue?

I saw KISS/Crüe last night. Missed Thin Lizzy cos of traffic but in my opinion Crüe a better band than KISS on the night. KISS just seemed tired and old compared to Crüe

I was there last night too, Vince Neil needs to lose some weight. Started off strong, skipped around for 5 seconds, then out of breath. Hard to sing along with. But the rest of the band were on key, and did an awesome performance.
But you can't top Kiss. Brilliant set list, with a fair few variations and tunes I would of never expected them to play. A heavy 80's theme, mainly Creatures.
Thin Lizzy were ok. I only knew 3 songs, so I couldn't really get into them. Really dug the guitar solo though.

Went out to De La Soul @ The Metro in Sydney last night. I don't know if it was because I was not going in expecting much but I rate it as one of the best live performances I have seen they absolutely killed it. So much crowd interaction and the crowd was right behind them did a 2hour set and no one left just kept applauding so they came out and did a 30min encore to top it off, made me realise how hip hop is on its deathbed now with a minimal amount of artists just keeping it afloat. these guys have not had a hit song in 20 years don't rap about bling, making it rain in stip joints and how much they packing, they dress in minimal non designer clothes but are just having fun, still living the dream and enjoying every minute of it. Excellent crowd all 30-40 OG demographic and a few hipsters but no sudanese or another trouble making ethic group that attend hip hop shows. DJ yoda killed it also did a set that was like a walk back in time these two hipster girls walked off to get another drink when straight out of compton came on saying we don't know this

De La Soul are one of my faves. Not a big fan of Gangsta Rap.

Really wanted to see the Rolling Stones but missed out on tickets altogether and I'm not prepared to pay ridiculous scalper prices. All was not lost though, the 2nd time I missed the Stones tickets I found Eddie Bedder was doing solo shows while doing the big day out. Logged on presale the following day and got front row seats. Can't wait!

I have been sating my need for live gigs (I dont go cause quite frankly, my neck dont like it AND i aint got the coin required)by utilising my youtube downloader and sticking a load of Wacken gigs on dvds for later perusal
and I must say I do miss going fkn off at gigs ...thankfully I didnt do enough bourbon and drugs to rob me of my memorys of the glory days of pub rock around Sydney
