I don't think Eminems overrated.... I'm fairly certain most of us don't even rate him at all.

I liked his first album and I like his latest album. *lol* *hides face* For me, I absolutely totally loath anything by Nick Cave. Now Cory loves him so I always mime trying to strangle myself when he plays it.

Never understood the whole Nick Cave thing either.
Powderfinger has to be another one. People talk like Bernard Fanning is the Australian Eddie Vedder.

I'm not sure if I've heard a Nick Cave song but he had something to do with The Proposition so he gets a pass from me.
Nothing wrong with liking Eminem, especially his early work.

Nothing of his jumps out, and demands I listen to it. No time for dreary songs like his. + 1 on Powderfinger. No guts to their music, alot of it is wandering around aimlessly.

I too was skeptical, but after listening to it, I'd much rather put Democracy on than Illusions, keep in mind i love all GnR albums. Bucketheads tracks are just killer.

Eminem's Infinite is quite good. Very raw compared to his more well known stuff. But the best part is, it's before he developed this " I'm a spastic drug addict with a split personality " bullshit.
As for Nirvana, Nevermind is still a great album. Maybe not generational defining " great " but still a kickass album. What cemented Kurt Cobain's place in history, is that he was the biggest rockstar of his generation and died at his, well debatable, his peak.
However, we all know that.
I don't understand Australian music at all. Once every few years some new outfit comes along. The Vines, Dallas Crane, Sleepy Jackson, Little Birdy, Tame Impala, Children Collide..., etc and we're told that these bands are the greatest in the world, etc etc.. yada, yada, the media builds them up and something fantastic, the uni students preach the good word and then nothing commercially successful or mildy interesting, new or tolerable comes out of it.

I agree, top to bottom Chinese Democracy is a great album. Was never going to live up to the hype of 15 years and millions spent to make it...but an f'n good album in it's own right. And Powderfinger = Greatest Aussie band ever. EVER. Don't care what anybody says.

I'm dirty on f'n axl cause he left me with a useless ticket TWICE..once in the states when they toured with tallica and on the chinese democracy tour of aust, I was in sydney, the band was in sydney ARSEHOLE WAS IN BRISVEGAS, trying to decide if he could be fucked to drag his over rated arse to the f'n airport to catch his private jet to sydney...F**K AXL, cocksucker extrodianaire.....PS...i chucked out Chinese democracy....as far as i'm concerned the last albums were the illusions double

While on Guns N' Roses. Another one has to be Slash.
Ok, I like Slash. I like his bluesy style of work, I love the big riffs, etc, etc.. and his album is pretty good.
But shit, he's a guitarist. I'll compare his to a sports cars. He's only as good as his driver. Which is why, his album is parts is hit and miss. While working with Myles Kennedy, he's fantastic, the same when working with Axl. The rest, is usually over-done and over-exposed.

This x 10000. I hate the "trendy" indie bands. Style over substance time and time again. Any time I see a frontman wearing skinny jeans and a sweater with a terrible hair cut, I automatically tune out.

I have a serious problem with these new-age synth groups. Channel V loves them.
As mentioned, 90% style.. or apparently style, and 10% talent. Tight jeans, stretched out T-shirts and homo unkempt hair styles. Pretty much sums up their presenters to the tee also.
