Yesterday at work cleaning out a clients stuff who HIV + and hep c he got a gun put to his head and now in witness protection. I found a black box knew straight away it was a fit pack from the needle syringe program we got these two rubbish workers one is this young woman straight out of uni who knows shit the other is a supposed alcohol and drug worker but also knows shit. Well I've been told find syringes report them so I go down to report this woman says to me why would you report it like she defending the guy and the worker more concerned about how to dispose of it he didn't know she seemed to think it was some gay sex thing and like I was a judgemental prick and then asked me a fucking cleaner not a worker what a fit pack was and explained it. Well I pulled up a worker today who been in the sector for along time and has been good to me and told him that these two experienced workers didn't know what a fit pack was looked at me strange for reporting it and don't have a clue what they doing he just shook his head and explained policy's regarding it. I feel like having a chat to my boss or team leader about it but don't want these two on my back and looking over my shoulder on every little detail of work I do. I checked out this woman's Facebook and she seems like a beard with a lot of gay guys on her profile with her and honestly I Got the impression she too emotionally attached to this client

So after 7 years, looks like the HDD in my DVD recorder has died. Was deleting files off it and it went from 5 hours free to 0. Only bitch is I can't edit the 30 odd files I have on there causes there's no free space.

My HDD DVD recorder, still mostly OK. I use it now for VHS conversions & cable TV. Don't use the disc burning feature anymore.

I used to bother with all that, but why, when there are many out there that do the work for you, just download and file away

Chopper Read died last night. Read his books and enjoyed them, and i did agree with some of his views on the law and Australia. Saw on Sunrise this morning they were asking how he should be remembered, as a hero or villain, and Derryn Hinch couldnt wait to sink the boots in. Hinch is a guy i have little time for. He loves waiting till someone famous is dead and then starts trashing him. This time he kept going on about how Read wasnt a hero and just a scumbag and a murderer. I thought it strange that someone who hates pedophiles as much as he does, wasnt a supporter of Reads, given his views on them.
I didnt see him as a hero, and you can argue all day over whether what he did was right or wrong. Yes he did kill people, but many of them were drug dealers and pedophiles. Not saying its right to take the law into your own hands, but as Chopper said, you're either a member of the public, or a menace to the public, you cant be both. and his victims were a menace to the public.
My views on Chopper were he was a lesser of 2 evils who wrote some interesting books. I'm not sad the guy's dead but I'm not happy about it either. It is what it is.
Anyhoo thats my 2 cents worth.

I personally think, we shouldn't be celebrating Chopper Reid.
Enjoy the fact he was a personality and some what entertaining, however whatever good he has done, whatever his views on different forms of politics and socials, it doesn't really matter. Those who will celebrate him the most, will be celebrating the notorious criminal not the advocate against domestic violence & drink driving.
You wouldn't celebrate Gangitano or Mokbel. So why, Chopper.. because he comes across as an entertaining and highly sensationalized type of guy?

Speaking of, does anyone know of a good DVD reorder with a HDD?

Facebook and Twitter have been full of people celebrating his life and all that jazz. They may as well mourn Carl Williams too.

I have to give him credit after 27 years of his life spent in jail he made something successful of himself and stayed out of trouble which most dont. I don't think he went around stand over innocent people as he said why would I go rob someone for his commodore and $20 when he will go straight to the police when I can rob a drug dealer for thousands and they won't say a word. He gave all the proceeds of his film to kids with cancer although he probably sold more books its a sign if class in this day in age. If he can motivate one person to change their life I say good on him

My uncle worked quite closely with him over the last five years - not in the last eighteen months, however.
He paints portraits and then Chopper was signing them and they'd go halves - they'd sell them at engagements where Chopper spoke. I met him a couple of times briefly when I dropped in and they were discussing something or other. He was very piolite and respectful, and above all... he was pretty fucking humble.
Now I am not mourning him at all - he meant nothing to me, but it seemed to me that age begat a fair bit of wisdom in his case.

interesting comments on Chopper. I'm not saying we should celebrate his life either, and people can make up their own mind on him. Pete you musta read his books a few times as he had that same view on robbing people. Did find it strange that some people on tv were bagging Chopper, yet praise the Underbelly series and the crims in it.

One about some people in this country trash the Italian Mafia for being a bad organisation in which they are, but these very same people idolise Ned Kelly and Chopper Read. ( Not referring to anyone on this forum)
