You were going to use software so you could run my PC remotely when I was having network issues. I want to set it up so I can remotely fix my Mother's PC problems rather than driving down there and making new shortcuts.

There are various ones, but yea, like I said above, I use Log Me In. They have 2 free types of accounts, depending on what you are doing. secure.logmein.com/I use log me in ignition, as I have it on my iPhone and iPad an can log into my client servers and work remotely from either device, or you can login via there website, and take control of the PC in a secure manner. THere are heaps of different types, but I like log me in.

I trust the originals are some generic PAL format you made yourself? I suppose that could work DVD player to DVD recorder. I suggest you get one with a HDD, very useful.
Or alternatively using a PC you could rip all the matches you want , them publish them to DVD.
I've got a Pionerr DVR 540H-S & it's given me lots of trouble free recording. It's got a 160GB HDD & burns in a quick copy to DVD.

to do that with my dvd recorder i had to get this thing called a "video enhancer" which overrides any copyright issues. I had problems ripping alot of tapes especially ones from RF etc, you might have problems with comm tapes from pride etc. Cost me about $100, you just plug that into the middle of the av cord connection and bam, works sweet as

Using the p.c would be just to over my head.

The PC will give you greater control and more ability to achieve different results, but is not as simple to use.

Shit dude, this sounds massive.
Ok, I need more info to be able to help. Which windows are you running? What was the last application you remember installing? How many hard drives do you have? Are any partitioned? Which antivirus do you have? Do you know how to boot into safe mode? Do you have more than 1 PC? if so, are they networked?
Please get back to me here, or on MSN, and I'll do my best to get you out of the shitter.

Windows XP Can't remember the last thing I installed, all I remember is everything was working fine, I turned it off. Turned it back on, and everything was wiped out. AVG Free 8.5 One harddrive, have another PC which works fine and was unaffected, and are only connected by a wireless internet connection.
